A South Bend man faces sentencing after pleading guilty to transporting firearms in Indiana.
Tyran Lenard, 23, of South Bend, Indiana, entered a guilty plea before Magistrate Judge Christopher A. Nuechterlein to the felony offense of unlawful transport of firearms. The case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
According to documents filed in this case, Lenard was charged with transporting firearms in violation of federal law. If convicted, Lenard faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
Sentencing has been set for November 21, 2013. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William Grimmer.
