CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – In a shocking turn of events, a task force has been launched to crack down on elder abuse in the Hawkeye State, and U.S. Attorney Kevin W. Techau is at the forefront of the effort.
The Elder Justice Task Force, one of ten nationwide districts, aims to foster a collaborative working relationship among all levels of government, advocacy groups, and others charged with the care and protection of our most vulnerable citizens.
U.S. Attorney Kevin W. Techau will be present at the press conference on Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Oakhill Jackson Community Church, 1202 10th St. S.E., Cedar Rapids, IA, to discuss the task force’s goals and objectives.
The task force’s primary goals are to ensure the integrity of all government expenditures by eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse in health programs and protecting seniors from financial fraud schemes.
Seniors will be present at the press conference, providing a unique opportunity for the public to hear firsthand about the task force’s efforts to combat elder abuse in Iowa.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the press conference will provide a press release and interview opportunities with task force members.
