Valdosta’s Wesley White, Sr. Pleads Guilty to Crack Cocaine Distribution

VALDOSTA, GA — Wesley White, Sr., a/k/a ‘Westside’, has entered a guilty plea in a federal court for his role in the distribution of crack cocaine. The 38-year-old Valdosta resident faced Senior U.S. District Court Judge Hugh Lawson and admitted to possession with intent to distribute over 28 grams of the illegal substance.

On June 3, 2013, a warrant led to the discovery of drugs at White’s residence in Valdosta. Authorities seized six cookies of crack cocaine, seven bags of powder cocaine, one gallon-sized bag of marijuana, and a cocaine press containing additional cocaine. The living room yielded two quart-sized bags of pot, digital scales, and $1216 in cash.

The court has set sentencing for April 28, 2014, where White faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years up to forty years imprisonment, along with a fine of up to $5 million. ‘In the Middle District of Georgia, people who deal drugs will face the full force of federal authorities,’ U.S. Attorney Michael Moore stated.

The investigation into White’s activities was a collaborative effort between the FBI Southwest Georgia Gang Task Force, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Valdosta Police Department, and Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert D. McCullers is leading the prosecution for the government.
