Former Office Manager for Lincoln Family Wellness Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison

Lincoln, Nebraska – In a stunning turn of events, Valerie M. Stevens, 36, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced to 15 months in prison by United States Senior District Judge Richard G. Kopf on Tuesday in Lincoln, Nebraska, for wire fraud.

According to reports, in addition to the prison sentence, Ms. Stevens will also be required to pay $222,322.43 in restitution and serve three years on supervised release.

Ms. Stevens, who served as the office manager for Lincoln Family Wellness, P.C. from January 2011 to October 2016, was given use of a Pinnacle Bank Visa card in the name of Lincoln Family Wellness. The credit card was billed to Lincoln Family Wellness and Stevens at their business address in Lincoln, Nebraska.

However, during her employment, Stevens made numerous unauthorized charges to the Visa card, totaling over $130,000 in personal expenses. The charges included payments for herself and others, which were then paid for by using the proceeds of Lincoln Family Wellness, P.C.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who uncovered the extent of Stevens’ wrongdoing.

Ms. Stevens’ actions have left a trail of financial devastation, with the former office manager now facing the consequences of her actions. Her sentencing serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and the severe penalties that come with committing white-collar crimes.
