Gregory C. Bolton III, Fentanyl Meth Distribution, Washington 2022

Seattle – A relentless crackdown on drug trafficking led to the arrest of 26-year-old Gregory C. Bolton III, a Vancouver, Washington man, who was charged in federal court today for distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Bolton’s downfall began in June 2022 when he was released on bail after being charged with distributing meth and fentanyl pills. He vanished only to resurface again in January 2024, following the tragic overdose death of a 60-year-old man in Vancouver. The victim’s widow and confidential informants helped trace the source of the lethal fentanyl powder back to Bolton.

On January 24, 2024, Bolton was arrested for possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver and firearm possession, yet he was released on bail once more. But this time, his release came with a strict condition: no further law violations.

In April, a law enforcement sting resulted in the purchase of 100 fentanyl pills from Bolton, which were confirmed as fentanyl by June 11. The federal charges against Bolton followed on June 18, and he was finally taken into custody on June 25.

Bolton faces up to 20 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. The investigation is active, and more charges may emerge. As of now, the case stands as a stark reminder of the relentless effort by law enforcement to combat organized drug trafficking.

The Columbia River Organized Crime Task Force, including the FBI and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, is leading the investigation, while Assistant United States Attorney Kristine Foerster is prosecuting the case. Bolton remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
