Victorville, California – Deondre Demetris Porter, a 26-year-old resident of Victorville, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for sex trafficking and assault of a 16-year-old girl. The young victim was physically attacked and thrown from a moving car during an escape attempt on Easter Sunday in April 2023.
Porter was indicted by a federal grand jury in May 2023 alongside Aaliyah White. He pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor in February 2024. The girl, who had been lured by Porter just three days prior, endured the assault in San Bernardino and San Diego, where she was forced into commercial sex acts.
After receiving a distress call on April 9, 2023, the San Diego Police Department discovered Porter’s vehicle involved in the incident. Further investigation linked Porter to online advertisements for the girl as an adult, offering her for commercial sex. Hotel surveillance footage confirmed Porter’s trafficking activities.
U.S. Attorney Tara McGrath praised the victim’s bravery and the efforts of law enforcement. ‘Her courage, combined with the tireless work of agents and prosecutors, brought this predator to justice,’ she said.
San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit emphasized the community’s dedication to aiding trafficking survivors and aggressively pursuing those responsible for such crimes. ‘This survivor suffered life-long damages at the hands of Porter,’ he stated. ‘The San Diego Police Department remains committed to justice and public safety in these cases.’
Co-defendant Aaliyah White is set to be sentenced on June 10, 2024. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Derek Ko and Lyndzie M. Carter prosecuted the case.
