A 19-year-old Tulsa man, Deshawn Patrick, has been held accountable for his violent criminal behavior after pleading guilty to two counts of robbery in Indian Country. The crimes, committed on Sept. 6, 2020 and Oct. 18, 2020, targeted two victims who are Muscogee Nation citizens and took place within the Muscogee Nation Reservation.
According to the investigation by the Tulsa Police Department and FBI, Deshawn Patrick committed a series of violent crimes, including a robbery where he pointed a pistol at a minor victim and took their phone, car keys, and vehicle. The second robbery involved a 74-year-old victim who was struck in the head with a pistol and left unconscious.
The second victim sustained lacerations to their head during the incident. The Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan H. Heatherman and Reagan V. Reininger are prosecuting the case. Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson praised the efforts of the Tulsa Police Department, FBI, and federal prosecutors in holding Deshawn Patrick accountable for his actions.
The Chief U.S. District Judge John Heil will sentence Deshawn Patrick on Nov. 30. The plea agreement highlighted the seriousness of Deshawn Patrick‘s actions, which posed a significant danger to the public.
