OMAHA, NEBRASKA – Arthur Marr, Sr., 48, of Walthill, Nebraska, will spend the next two years in federal prison for a savage beating on the Omaha Nation Indian Reservation. U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced the sentencing today, detailing a case of senseless violence that left the victim hospitalized and fearing for his life, even in the hospital.
On September 8, 2025, Senior U.S. District Court Judge Joseph F. Bataillon handed down a 24-month sentence to Marr, who pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Unlike state systems, there’s no chance for parole in the federal system – Marr will serve every day of that sentence. Following his release, he’ll be subject to a 3-year term of supervised release, assuming he doesn’t re-offend.
