Rochester Man Pleads Guilty to Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm
A 53-year-old Rochester man has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, announced U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross. Warren L. Tisdale faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the charge.
According to court documents, investigators executed a search warrant at Tisdale’s home on Central Park in Rochester on September 29, 2021. During the search, they recovered a semiautomatic rifle in a closet and drug paraphernalia in the kitchen, including a vacuum sealer, digital scale, vacuum sealer bags, and numerous new and unused baggies.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Rochester Police Department, under the direction of Chief David Smith, and Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Scarpino. Additional assistance was provided by the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, under the direction of District Attorney Sandra Doorley.
Tisdale’s plea is the latest in a series of cases brought by U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of New York to combat gun violence and illegal firearms trafficking.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. before Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr.
