GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Kesner Joaseus, 47, the Wellington-based mastermind behind a multi-million dollar real estate and identity theft scam, was sentenced yesterday to 11 years in prison. The U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg delivered the blow-to-the-chest sentence after Joaseus admitted to orchestrating two elaborate fraud schemes.
Joaseus’s first scheme involved assuming the identity of a legitimate real estate investment trust, RHA 2, LLC, and renting out its properties under a counterfeit name, RHA Two, LLC. He骗取了数十名租户近38万美元的租金，而他实际上无权拥有这些房产。在第二个案件中，Joaseus利用受害者的个人信息，包括生日和社会安全号码，盗窃信用卡并购买价值超过26万美元的商品。
