A Jefferson Parish woman has been found guilty of concealing a felony, according to a grim revelation from federal prosecutors.
Whitley Demolle, 40, of Terrytown, Louisiana, pleaded guilty on June 20, 2024, to Misprision of a Felony, to wit, a Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 846, before United States District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo.
According to court records, beginning on a date unknown, but prior to June 3, 2021, and continuing to on or about February 4, 2022, Demolle had knowledge of the commission of a felony, specifically conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and concealed the same by allowing a co-conspirator to store controlled substances in their shared apartment and failing to report the co-conspirator’s identity and involvement in a crime to law enforcement.
Demolle faces up to 3 years imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, up to 1 year of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100. Her sentencing is scheduled for September 18, 2024.
The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. The prosecution of this case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Rachal Cassagne of the Narcotics Unit.
Demolle’s actions have left a dark stain on her community, and her conviction serves as a reminder that those who conceal felonies will face the full weight of the law.
