Mayville Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Sex Trafficking a Minor
BUFFALO, N.Y. – In a disturbing case of human exploitation, William A. Quinones, 51, of Mayville, NY, has been sentenced to life in prison for his heinous crimes.
According to the conviction, Quinones was found guilty of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and sex trafficking of a minor.
The victims, identified as four minors, reported that Quinones repeatedly raped and physically abused them. One of the victims told investigators that Quinones started paying her in exchange for sexual contact when she was 13 years old until age 16 years old.
Quinones had regular sexual contact with one minor victim, referred to in the indictment, beginning when she was eight years old, as often as three to four times each week. He would threaten them with violence or threaten to hurt their families if they disclosed what he was doing.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Aaron J. Mango and Franz M. Wright handled the prosecution of the case, working closely with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. handed down the sentence, ensuring that Quinones will face the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life. This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of human trafficking and the importance of protecting our most vulnerable citizens.
The investigation was led by Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff James Quattrone.
