A Council Bluffs man has been sentenced to 135 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring, according to federal authorities.
William J. Allen, 32, was sentenced on October 27, 2017, for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Following his prison term, Allen will serve five years on supervised release.
According to investigators, Allen was responsible for the distribution of at least five kilograms (11 pounds) of methamphetamine in the Lincoln and Omaha areas between January 2013 and August 2016.
In August 2016, a confidential informant working with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) purchased approximately one ounce of nearly pure methamphetamine from Allen.
The case was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
The exact nature of Allen’s role in the conspiracy is not clear, but authorities say he was a key player in the distribution of the illicit substance.
Allen’s sentencing brings an end to a long and complex investigation that involved multiple law enforcement agencies.
