Meth Distribution Rocks Tyler County: 51-Year-Old Man Sentenced to 30 Months

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – In a major blow to the methamphetamine trade in Tyler County, West Virginia, 51-year-old William ‘Jack’ Parr of Middlebourne was sentenced to 30 months incarceration for his involvement in the distribution of the highly addictive substance and a firearm violation.

Parr, a Middlebourne resident, had previously pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Conspiracy to Possess With Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Methamphetamine’ and one count of ‘Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person’ in January 2018.

According to court documents, Parr admitted to distributing methamphetamine from 2015 to August 2017 in Tyler County, West Virginia. The defendant, having previously been convicted of a felony in the Circuit Court of Tyler County, also admitted to illegally possessing two .22 caliber pistols, a 9mm pistol, and a .45 caliber pistol.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert H. McWilliams, Jr., prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, working closely with investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office. Senior U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr. presided over the case.

The methamphetamine distribution and firearm charges brought against Parr are a stark reminder of the dangers of the illicit substance and the importance of effective law enforcement in keeping communities safe.
