Assault Conviction Rocks Mescalero Apache Reservation
In a shocking turn of events, William Monte Hosetosavit, 27, a member of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, was sentenced to two years and seven months in federal prison for assault resulting in serious bodily injury in Indian Country.
The crime took place on April 5, 2019, in Otero County, New Mexico, on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. Hosetosavit pleaded guilty on November 7, 2019, to assaulting Jane Doe, causing prolonged disfigurement to her eye socket.
