William Walls, Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Idaho 2025

BOISE, Idaho – In a shocking case of child exploitation, a federal jury found William Walls, 52, guilty of three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child.

According to testimony and evidence presented at the three-day trial, which concluded on May 14, Walls used his cellphone to secretly record three female children in the bathroom of his apartment while he was babysitting them.

The victims were captured on video showering and changing their clothes. Walls’ actions are punishable under the law with a minimum of 15 years and up to life in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release.

As a result of the conviction, Walls will be required to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is set for July 31, 2025, before Senior U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Boise.

The investigation that led to Walls’ charges was handled by the Nampa Police Department, and Assistant United States Attorneys Kassandra McGrady and Erin Blackadar prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho and the Idaho Attorney General’s Office partner to marshal federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.

Walls’ guilty verdict serves as a warning to those who would prey on the most vulnerable members of our society. The full weight of the law will be brought to bear on those who commit such heinous crimes.
