ROCHESTER, N.Y. – In a grim turn of events, Joseph Hudson, III, 26, from Williamson, New York, has entered a guilty plea to possession of child pornography, following his conviction for the sexual abuse of a minor. The charge, stemming from a previous offense, lands Hudson in legal hot water once again.
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo revealed that Hudson’s plea comes after a diligent investigation by law enforcement agencies. On March 14, 2024, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) was alerted by Microsoft about the upload of nine files of suspected child pornography on their platform. The New York State Police swiftly traced these uploads to Hudson, who is already a registered sex offender.
Armed with a search warrant, authorities descended upon Hudson’s residence, where they confiscated his computer. A thorough forensic examination of the device unearthed approximately 111 images and 112 videos depicting the sexual abuse and exploitation of prepubescent minors, including acts of violence against them.
Hudson’s new charge carries a severe penalty, with a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years. He also faces a substantial fine of $250,000. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi is handling the case, while Major Kevin Sucher of the New York State Police and Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan of Homeland Security Investigations directed the investigation.
Sentencing for Hudson is set for December 4, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa. The community is now left to grapple with another tragedy involving child exploitation and the justice system’s efforts to protect the innocent.
