NASHVILLE – A grim chapter in Tennessee’s justice narrative unfolded as Jonathon Aaron Ladd, 30, of Mt. Juliet, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison for the heinous production, transportation, and distribution of child pornography. United States Attorney Henry C. Leventis announced the sentence yesterday, which will be followed by 10 years of supervised release.
In a shocking revelation from 2020, Ladd, while in care of a six-year-old girl, recorded a sexually explicit video. He then shared this disturbing material, alongside another child’s explicit video, with other predators via an online chat application.
Ladd was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2021 on one count each of production, transportation, and distribution of child pornography. On September 21, 2023, he pled guilty to all charges against him.
“Protecting children will always be a top priority for the Justice Department,” Leventis emphasized. “The defendant’s sentence reflects our unwavering commitment to keep our youth safe from predators like Ladd.”
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Nashville Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud echoed these sentiments, stating, “Let this serve as a stark warning to those who engage in producing and distributing child sexual assault material. Our investigators work tirelessly with law enforcement to ensure justice for our children.”
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative since 2006 dedicated to combating child exploitation. The investigation was conducted by HSI, the FBI Memphis Field Office, Nashville Resident Agency, and the Metro Nashville Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Carrie Daughtrey handling the prosecution.
