WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA
A Pleasants County woman has been sentenced to federal prison for her role in manufacturing methamphetamine. Bonnie Jean Butler, 55, of St. Marys, West Virginia, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for aiding and abetting possession of material used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, according to United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.
The case began in February 2014 when Butler was discovered in possession of various materials commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine. She was one of six individuals charged in June 2015 in a 19-count federal indictment that disrupted a methamphetamine manufacturing operation in Pleasants County, West Virginia.
Butler pled guilty in August 2015 to the charge. She is one of the six individuals charged in the federal indictment, which aimed to disrupt a methamphetamine manufacturing operation in the county.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The West Virginia State Police and the Pleasants County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
