A federal indictment has been handed down against a Wyoming man for allegedly failing to register as a convicted sex offender in South Dakota.
Edward Dailey, a/k/a Edward Olmstead, age 43, was indicted on February 20, 2013, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
The alleged offense occurred between August 1, 2012, and October 31, 2012.
According to the indictment, Dailey appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on August 19, 2013, and pled not guilty to the charge.
The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
Dailey was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, and a trial date has not been set.
The investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service.
The charge is merely an accusation, and Dailey is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
