Wyoming Man Sentenced for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
A 47-year-old Northern Arapaho man from Arapahoe, Wyoming has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm.
Jess Theodore Birdshead was sentenced by United States District Judge Scott W. Skavdahl in Federal District Court in Casper, Wyoming on December 11, 2013. The charge stemmed from an assault that occurred on May 20, 2013, on the Wind River Indian Reservation.
The assault was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. As part of his sentence, Birdshead will also serve three years of supervised release and pay $5,733.00 in restitution.
The case against Birdshead was brought by United States Attorney Christopher A. Crofts, who announced the sentencing.
