New Orleans Man Pleads Guilty to Cocaine Charges

A 48-year-old New Orleans resident has pleaded guilty to a serious crime. Yrian Devore, a resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, has admitted to violating federal controlled substances laws.

According to court documents, Devore transported drugs and money between Houston, Texas and Louisiana for others who were involved in a drug trafficking conspiracy.

Devore’s crime, which occurred on June 30, 2021, involved the possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine hydrochloride. This is a serious offense, punishable under Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(B).

The U.S. Attorney’s Office will prosecute Devore for this crime. United States Attorney Maurice Landrieu is leading the prosecution. The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case.

Devore faces severe penalties for his crime. He is eligible for a term of imprisonment of not less than 5 years and not more than 40 years in prison.
