Yuren Aranda-Diaz, a 34-year-old Mexican national, has been found guilty on multiple charges related to drug trafficking and firearms offenses.
Aranda-Diaz was arrested on October 2, 2012, on charges of selling heroin to an undercover informant.
The informant purchased an ounce of heroin from Aranda-Diaz for $750.00 in the vicinity of 5th Street and Menaul Blvd. NW.
Aranda-Diaz has been in federal custody since his arrest and remains detained pending his sentencing hearing.
At sentencing, Aranda-Diaz faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison on each of Counts 1, 2, and 6 of the indictment and 20 years in prison on each of Counts 3 and 4.
Aranda-Diaz also faces a mandatory five years in prison on Count 5, which must be served consecutive to any prison sentence imposed on the other five counts of the indictment.
