MINNEAPOLIS – Federal authorities have landed a devastating blow to the 10z gang, charging ten of its members with illegal possession of firearms and drug trafficking, according to U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger.
“Violent criminals who carry guns pose a deadly threat to communities,” said Luger. “Our federal resources are focused on holding accountable those who threaten the safety of our cities.”
The 10z gang, known for its operations in south Minneapolis and its ties to the 20z gang, has been a persistent thorn in the side of law enforcement. The gang’s activities have been centered around Peavey Park at the intersection of Franklin and Chicago Avenues.
Here are the ten members of the 10z/20z gang who now face serious federal charges:
- Don Buddie Austin, 32: Possession of a firearm as a felon.
- Albert William Bratton, 28: Possession of a firearm as a felon.
- Paul Antonio Early, 32: Possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
- Toraus Marquis Eason, 44: Possession of a firearm as a felon, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and MDMA, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
- Billy Ismael Hawkins, 34: Possession of a firearm as a felon.
- Jaquan Lavelle Jackson, 29: Possession of a firearm as a felon, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

- Armond Quinton Wright, 33: Possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
This crackdown on the 10z gang is a result of investigations conducted by the Minneapolis Police Department and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristian C.S. Weir is leading the prosecution.
Remember, an indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
