Scott Meyer, a 42-year-old from Saratoga Springs, New York, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography. This is his second conviction, following a previous one in 2016 in the Southern District of New York. Between September 2024 and January 2025, Meyer uploaded images of child pornography to the internet and possessed images and videos on his cell phone and desktop computer.
Meyer’s actions demonstrate a clear failure to change his behavior after his initial conviction. As a result, he will now serve 120 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervision. The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and prosecuted by the US Attorney’s Office.
The sentence is a significant one, and law enforcement officials say it sends a strong message to those who would exploit children. HSI Acting Special Agent in Charge Anthony Patrone said that Meyer’s actions represent a grave offense against vulnerable children and a serious threat to the safety and wellbeing of communities.
The US Attorney’s Office and HSI are committed to protecting children and holding offenders accountable. First Assistant US Attorney John Sarcone said that Meyer’s repeated conduct will now result in a decade behind bars, and he thanked HSI for their work on the case.
