JACKSON, MS – Roman Walker, 35, is heading to federal prison for 15 years and 8 months after a Hinds County raid turned up a massive fentanyl operation. Walker was sentenced Tuesday for possession with intent to distribute the deadly opioid.
According to court records, Walker wasn’t just slinging dope – he was running a full-blown drug ‘business’ out of his Jackson home. Investigators say he circulated a ‘menu’ with prices and operating hours for his narcotics deals.
On January 24, 2023, a search warrant slammed the door on Walker’s operation. Cops found over 11,000 counterfeit blue fentanyl pills, fentanyl powder, and a stash of methamphetamine, all prepped for distribution across the metro Jackson area.
The case was built by the DEA, with help from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Federal prosecutors are tying Walker’s operation to ‘Operation Take Back America’, a national push targeting drug cartels and transnational criminal groups.
