On April 2, 2024, Demontrae Rogers and Damarion Nichols stormed into a detached garage in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Four people were held at gunpoint, with one victim beaten with a firearm, causing lacerations and abrasions. During the assault, one of the guns misfired, ejecting a casing that investigators would later match to a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
Over a year later, on March 6, 2026, Nichols was sentenced to 46 months in prison for four counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm in Indian Country. Rogers received a harsher sentence: 21 months for armed assault, plus 84 months for using a firearm during the crime, all to be served consecutively. He was also hit with 12 months for possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, which was served concurrently with the assault charge.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police, and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation that brought these violent offenders to justice.
