Daniel John Standley, a 37-year-old Okanogan County man, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for producing child sexual abuse material. The abuse occurred in Okanogan, Washington, and was reported on June 1, 2024, when the 11-year-old victim disclosed the molestation to a friend’s mother. The victim had been subjected to grooming and sexual abuse since she was around five or six years old. Standley’s crimes were uncovered after law enforcement executed a search warrant at his residence, finding sex toys and electronic devices containing explicit images and videos of the victim.
The forensic review of the devices revealed a disturbing video over ten minutes long, depicting the child being coached and coerced to perform sex acts, including oral sex on Standley. The Okanogan County Prosecutor’s Office also charged and convicted Standley for several counts of child molestation in the first degree related to this investigation.
Standley’s sentence includes a life term of supervised release following the prison term, as well as a $10,000 special assessment pursuant to the Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act. This assessment will be paid into a fund to provide restitution to child pornography victims.
The case was prosecuted by the US Department of Justice, with assistance from the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Seattle office. First Assistant United States Attorney Pete Serrano and Acting HSI Seattle Special Agent in Charge April Miller praised the work of law enforcement in bringing Standley to justice and preventing further harm to children.
