Francisco Rosales Ortiz, a 41-year-old Mexican alien, has been charged with multiple counts of child sexual exploitation and firearms offenses in Gaston County, North Carolina. Between June 2025 and March 2026, Ortiz allegedly used minors to produce child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and possessed three firearms while being in the US illegally. The allegations against Ortiz include 10 counts of production of CSAM, possession and access with intent to view CSAM, and unlawful possession of a firearm by an alien.
The investigation was led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with the US Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina handling the prosecution. US Attorney Russ Ferguson vowed to protect children from exploitation, stating that illegal aliens who commit such crimes will face justice.
