Paydan Georgy Bussey, a 27-year-old former Fall City, Washington resident, was sentenced to 9 years in prison for possessing images of child sexual abuse. The sentencing took place on July 16, 2026, in U.S. District Court in Seattle. Bussey’s troubles began when a CyberTip from the Kik platform revealed he had shared child sexual abuse images with another user in September 2024.
Bussey’s history of child abuse is extensive. As a juvenile, he was convicted of child molestation of a minor under the age of 12. He was required to register as a sex offender until 2017. In February 2024, Bussey was arrested by King County Sheriff Deputies for rape of a child, a charge that remains pending. He was also booked into Utah County Jail in October 2024 for sodomy of a child, another charge that remains pending.
Law enforcement obtained a search warrant for Bussey’s electronic devices and determined his laptop contained images of child sexual abuse. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received the initial CyberTip from Kik, which led to the identification of Bussey’s user account and address. The Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Officer recognized the address from a King County investigation into child sexual abuse.
U.S. District Judge Jamal N. Whitehead sentenced Bussey to 9 years in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release. Judge Whitehead stated that a lengthy sentence was warranted to protect the public. The sentencing is a result of a collaborative effort by law enforcement agencies, including the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force and the King County Sheriff’s Office.
