Caleb Sean Wheeler, a 28-year-old from Hartselle, Alabama, has been sentenced to 160 years in prison for committing heinous child sex abuse crimes. In June 2025, Wheeler produced and transported child pornography, including three videos and one image. He pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count each of transportation and possession of child pornography. Wheeler’s crimes were committed in Morgan County, where he will now be remembered as a monster who preyed on innocent children.
The FBI and the US Attorney’s Office worked tirelessly to bring Wheeler to justice. Acting U.S. Attorney Catherine Crosby stated that her office is committed to protecting children from crimes like those committed by Wheeler. The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Wheeler’s sentence is a testament to the severity of his crimes. He will spend the rest of his life in federal prison, followed by a life term of supervised release. The community can rest a little easier knowing that a predator like Wheeler is off the streets.
