Michael Lawrence Milewski, a 32-year-old Fort Myers man, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for enticing minors to engage in sexual activity, receiving and possessing images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, and transferring obscene matter to a minor. The crimes occurred between December 2024 and February 2025, when Milewski used a social media application to persuade and induce minors to engage in sexual activity. An investigation was launched in June 2025, after a minor disclosed that she had been communicating with Milewski online, who had requested images and videos of her engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Milewski’s social media account records revealed messages of a sexual nature with several minors, as well as images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct that he had requested and received. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Fort Myers Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Cape Coral Police Department.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Yolande G. Viacava as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. Milewski pleaded guilty on April 30, 2026, and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kyle C. Dudek to 30 years in federal prison, followed by a term of life supervised release, and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
The sentence reflects the seriousness of Milewski’s crimes and the need to protect minors from predators like him. The investigation and prosecution of this case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combating child sex crimes and holding offenders accountable.
