Hustlers and hooligans beware: Roland Jerome Lamarr, 59, has been officially tagged with a one-count indictment for bank robbery, according to the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, Steven M. Dettelbach.
The feds are gunning for Lamarr after he allegedly made a clean getaway from Charter One Bank at 1215 Superior Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 2, 2013. The grand jury has had its say and it’s clear that justice is on the march against this master of mischief.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Seabury Gould is leading the charge against Lamarr, who now faces a federal prosecutor with the smarts to bring him down. The FBI and the Cleveland Division of Police have been working overtime to piece together the evidence that led them straight to Lamarr’s doorstep.
Should Lamarr be found guilty, his sentence will be no walk in the park. It’ll all come down to what the Court decides based on the case’s unique factors, including any prior record he may or may not have, his role in the heist, and how he sliced through the bank’s security net. But let’s not get our hopes up for a cozy sentence; it won’t be more than the law allows.
Remember, folks, an indictment is no smoking gun. It’s just the starting shot in a trial where Lamarr will have his day in court. The government has to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt, or else this alleged bank bandit might walk free.
This isn’t the end of the story for Roland Jerome Lamarr. If he’s found guilty, he’ll be staring down the barrel of some serious time. But for now, it’s just another chapter in the gritty tale of crime in the Buckeye State.
