Abdullahe Nur Jesow, Money Laundering, Minnesota 2025

MINNEAPOLIS – In a stunning turn of events, Abdullahe Nur Jesow, 65, became the latest defendant to cave under the weight of the massive Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. Jesow’s plea today brings the total number of convictions in this scandal to 56.

Jesow was one of eight accused in United States v. Hassan, et al., 22-cr-224 (NEB/DTS), a group known as S&S Catering. This group claimed to operate food program sites across Minneapolis, including on Lake Street. They are charged with siphoning off $17.4 million meant for hungry children during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Before District Judge Nancy E. Brasel, Jesow admitted guilt to money laundering. He was set to face trial on October 14, 2025, but one defendant remains in that trial.

Jesow’s site, Academy For Youth Excellence, was a Federal Child Nutrition Program recipient. They falsely claimed to serve over 1.7 million meals between December 2020 and September 2021. In reality, they served a fraction of those. This led to $4,286,088 in fraudulent payments to the co-conspirators.

The investigation was a joint effort by the FBI, United States Postal Inspection Service, and IRS-Criminal Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Harry M. Jacobs, Daniel W. Bobier, and Melinda A. Williams are prosecuting the case against Jesow and his co-defendants.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson expressed his pride in the ongoing efforts to root out these crimes but emphasized that Minnesota deserves better than this level of corruption.
