Postmaster Accused of Embezzlement
A former postmaster in central Pennsylvania has been charged with embezzling over $9,000 in postal funds from the Castanea Post Office. Macey Geyer, 41, of Castanea, was charged with misappropriation of postal funds in a federal court in Williamsport, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
The alleged embezzlement occurred during Geyer’s tenure as Officer-in-Charge at the Castanea Post Office, which began on June 23, 2007. The investigation was conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Eric Pfisterer.
