Dupray Jordan, a 33-year-old man from Binghamton, New York, has pleaded guilty to possessing fentanyl and methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.
According to court documents, Jordan admitted to possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as a loaded .38 caliber revolver, in a Binghamton apartment on November 12, 2021. The gun was thrown to the ground by Jordan as police entered to execute a search warrant at the apartment.
Jordan’s conviction stems from an investigation by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force, the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the United States Postal Inspection Service.
The case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities across the country.
Dupray Jordan faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, as well as a fine of up to $1 million.
In addition to the federal charges, Jordan also faces a consecutive sentence of at least 5 years and up to life in prison, and a fine of up to $250,000, for possessing a firearm in connection with drug trafficking.
His sentencing is scheduled for May 8, 2024, in Syracuse, New York.
