Jawara Tyrone Williams, 45, is going down for 10 years in federal prison for peddling poison in Petersburg, Virginia. From August to October 2024, Williams sold fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine out of his house, raking in cash from desperate customers.
Law enforcement played Williams like a pawn, conducting a series of controlled transactions that netted them the evidence they needed to put him away. And when they finally closed in, they found a stolen handgun on the premises – a no-no for a convicted felon like Williams.
Williams’ rap sheet already had a strike against him: a previous conviction for distributing cocaine. This time around, he got slammed with two counts: distribution and possession with intent to distribute a mixture of heroin and fentanyl, plus distribution and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The feds didn’t take long to make an example out of Williams. Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick J. McGorman led the charge, with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Washington Field Division doing the heavy lifting on the investigation.
