A massive marijuana trafficking ring was busted in Slidell, Louisiana, with 66 kilograms of pot seized in Mississippi and Louisiana. Like Chen, 36, was among those caught in the sting.
Chen, a Louisiana man, was part of a conspiracy that brought massive amounts of marijuana from Texas to Mississippi, authorities say.
It started with a simple ride from the Houston airport to a Katy, Texas, residence. Chen and co-conspirators picked up a known marijuana distributor, Hanjie Wu, and headed to Denham Springs, Louisiana.
Over the next few days, multiple large trash bags containing marijuana were seized in Mississippi and Louisiana, leading to a massive search warrant sweep in Denham Springs.
Chen pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana, a crime that can land him 10 years in federal prison.
