⏱ 3 min read

A multi-year investigation into a methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking ring in central Wisconsin has finally seen its last defendant sentenced, bringing an end to a reign of terror that saw over 12 kilograms of cocaine, 285 grams of crack cocaine, 6 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 14 firearms seized.

The Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force launched the investigation in February 2022, tracking a massive operation led by Tommie L. Haney and Quo Vadis Lewis. The duo’s crew used the mail to smuggle in massive amounts of narcotics, including a 10-pound shipment of methamphetamine discovered on March 17, 2022.

Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement executed 32 controlled purchases, seized $47,405 in cash, and searched multiple residences. Haney and Lewis, the masterminds behind the operation, were sent to prison for 14 years and 12.5 years respectively.

The remaining 11 defendants were also brought to justice, with the last one being sentenced. The investigation was a testament to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and their determination to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations in the Western District of Wisconsin.
