BUFFALO, N.Y.-In a crushing blow to New York’s underworld, Victor Marshall, a 51-year-old Buffalo man, will spend the next 13 years behind bars for peddling cocaine and brandishing a firearm.
Marshall was slapped with a 156-month prison sentence by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, cocaine and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
This marks Marshall’s second stint in federal prison. In June 2014, he was sentenced to 130 months in federal prison and five years’ supervised release after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
As part of his supervised release, Marshall was ordered not to commit another federal, state, or local crime. But in March 2022, he was indicted by a federal grand jury on drug and gun charges, and subsequently admitted to violating his supervised release.
The investigation that led to Marshall’s downfall was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Pierre Richard Antoine, who is handling the case, stated that Marshall’s actions were a brazen disregard for the law and a threat to public safety.
Marshall’s case serves as a stark reminder that the justice system will not tolerate those who continue to engage in illicit activities, even after being given a second chance.
