Carey Ann Trotter, Methamphetamine Aiding and Abetting, WV 2024

Carey Ann Trotter, 41, of Crab Orchard, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the Department of Justice. The Raleigh County woman was caught with over 10 grams of the drug and 25.95 grams of para-fluorofentanyl on July 1, 2024.

Trotter further admitted to possessing firearms in violation of federal law due to her prior felony conviction. She is scheduled for sentencing on November 7, 2025, with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and potentially up to 40 years in prison, along with significant fines.

Co-defendant Joshua Mason Trotter, 44, also pleaded guilty for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is scheduled for sentencing on September 26, 2025.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a national initiative aimed at eliminating cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs). Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston praised the ATF and Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office for their investigative efforts.
