Jared Stanley, Armed Robbery, New Jersey 2024

PHILADELPHIA – A New Jersey thug has been handed a decade behind bars for a series of armed robberies that shook Kensington. Jared Stanley, 33, from Lindenwold, was sentenced to 130 months in the clink by Judge John F. Murphy. The sentence also includes five years of supervised release and restitution of $1,450.

Stanley’s spree began on January 21, 2024, at Birch Mini-Market on East Birch Street, where he pointed a gun at a cashier, demanded cash, and left with $550. His violent streak continued on January 28 at Capricorno Grocery, where he pistol whipped an employee for $500.

The capstone of his crime wave was February 2’s Bonifacios Grocery hit, where his partner-in-crime pushed a worker to the ground and they made off with another $500. All three robberies were carried out in just two weeks.

Stanley pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act robbery, carrying and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was charged again in August for the additional Hobbs Act robberies.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence in our communities. The ATF and Philadelphia PD worked tirelessly to crack down on Stanley’s criminal activities, led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert E. Eckert.

Stanley will spend the next ten years paying for his violent acts, a stark reminder that justice will be served in the City of Brotherly Love.
