Baltimore Cocaine Trafficker Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Baltimore, MD – In a major blow to the city’s cocaine trade, Timothy Joseph Carr, a 29-year-old Baltimore resident, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiring to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.

Carr, who was found guilty of conspiring to distribute between five and 15 kilograms of cocaine, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. He will also serve five years of supervised release after his prison term.

The investigation, led by HSI Baltimore and the Louisiana State Police, revealed that Carr had played a key role in the cocaine organization based in Baltimore. In November 2011, Carr drove a rental car from McAllen, Texas, carrying five kilograms of cocaine, back to Baltimore. This was not an isolated incident – Carr and other members of the organization had made several trips between Baltimore and Texas in the past year to transport additional kilograms of cocaine for distribution in the Baltimore area.

Carr’s arrest was part of a larger operation that took down several members of the cocaine organization. Timothy Lee Dennison, Daniel Bois, and Anthony Fraser Taylor, all of Baltimore, pleaded guilty to their participation in the conspiracy. Dennison was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while the other defendants remain to be sentenced.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the HSI Baltimore and the Louisiana State Police for their work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorneys Brooke Carey and Christopher Romano, who prosecuted the case.

The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against cocaine trafficking in Baltimore. As our city continues to grapple with the effects of addiction and violence, it is clear that law enforcement agencies are committed to taking down those responsible for the cocaine trade.

HSI Baltimore and the Louisiana State Police worked tirelessly to bring Carr and his co-conspirators to justice. Their dedication to the investigation was instrumental in securing Carr’s conviction and sentence.
