Glenn Anthony Thompson, Crack Cocaine and Heroin Trafficking, Maryland 2009

Baltimore, MD – A Baltimore man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a major crack cocaine and heroin trafficking operation.

According to court documents, Glenn Anthony Thompson, 45, of Baltimore, was sentenced today to 10 years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and heroin, and for possession of a gun in furtherance of drug trafficking.

The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Steven L. Gerido of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives – Baltimore Field Division; Baltimore City State’s Attorney Gregg L. Bernstein; and Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts.

On November 11, 2009, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Thompson’s home in the 2000 block of Westwood Avenue in Baltimore and recovered a loaded .357 revolver, .357 ammunition, a black semi-automatic pellet gun, a safe that contained 38.48 grams of crack cocaine and 50.80 grams of heroin, ten baggies of heroin from a sock in the bedroom, and .38 caliber ammunition.

“The sentencing of Glenn Anthony Thompson is a significant blow to the drug trafficking organizations that plague our city,” said United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein. “I commend the ATF, Baltimore Police Department and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for their tireless efforts in investigating and prosecuting this case.”

Assistant United States Attorney Ayn B. Ducao prosecuted the case.

Thompson’s sentence is a result of a thorough investigation by the ATF, Baltimore Police Department and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ayn B. Ducao.

Thompson will serve his sentence at a federal prison to be determined by the Bureau of Prisons. He was taken into custody immediately following the sentencing hearing.
