MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has delivered a decisive blow against illegal immigration with the sentencing of Jeffry Gabriel Zamora-Pineda. The 33-year-old Honduran national, who was unlawfully present in Oklahoma, has been sentenced to time served for Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien.
The sentence comes after a meticulous investigation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the Environmental Protection Agency. Zamora-Pineda’s crime was exposed when he was found in the United States on March 19, 2025, having been previously removed in 2019 without securing the necessary consent to reapply for admission.
This case is an integral part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at eradicating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and safeguarding communities from violent crime. The operation leverages the full might of the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over Zamora-Pineda’s hearing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan W. Howanitz and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Olivia Staubus represented the United States in this pivotal case.
