Buffalo Man Indicted on Cocaine Conspiracy Charges

Aaron Hicks, a 30-year-old Buffalo resident, has been indicted on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. According to the indictment, Hicks was involved in a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation on the East Side of Buffalo between 2010 and 2014.

The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life. The indictment is a result of an investigation by the Safe Streets Task Force of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Buffalo Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Hicks, also known as Boog and Boogy, was charged along with 17 other individuals and associates of the Schuele Boys in a related case in July 2014. The group was also charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Wei Xiang is handling the case, which is currently pending in federal court. A conviction on the charge could result in severe penalties, including life in prison.

The indictment serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat large-scale cocaine trafficking operations in Western New York. The Safe Streets Task Force and its partners have been working tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these operations, and this indictment is a significant step forward in that effort.

The fact that Aaron Hicks has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The case will be heard in federal court, and Hicks’ fate will be determined by the justice system.
