Local Man Charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine

The Pennsylvania State Police, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration, have charged Orin Moore, a 41-year-old resident of Lawrenceville, with manufacturing methamphetamine.

According to the U.S. Attorney, Peter Smith, on January 6, 2012, the Pennsylvania State Police conducted a search of Moore’s residence and allegedly found over 6 grams of methamphetamine and a facility designed for the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

The investigation was conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Pfisterer.

Moore faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. The sentence will be determined by a Judge after considering the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

The investigation into Moore’s activities is ongoing, and it is unclear at this time whether any other individuals are involved. However, it is clear that the production and distribution of methamphetamine is a serious crime that can have devastating consequences.
