Ceres Lozada, a 27-year-old resident of Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to prison for her role in a cocaine conspiracy in Carbon County.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Lozada was sentenced to serve 21 months in prison by Senior United States District Judge Edwin M. Kosik on the charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Lozada admitted to participating in a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and powder cocaine in the Carbon County area between January 2010 and December 2012, as stated by United States Attorney Peter J. Smith.
In addition to the prison term, Judge Kosik ordered that Lozada be supervised by a probation officer for three years following her prison sentence.
This is the third woman from Carbon County to be sentenced in connection with this cocaine trafficking conspiracy. Previously, Bonnie Vosburgh, age 22, of Nesquehoning, was sentenced to 60 months in prison by Judge Kosik, while Victoria Argott, age 34, of Lansford, was sentenced to 40 months in prison.
The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Nesquehoning and Lansford Police Departments in Carbon County.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara.
