Falmouth Man Faces Up to 40 Years in Prison for Cocaine Trafficking and Firearms Charges

A 27-year-old Falmouth man has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Adam White, 27, of Falmouth, Maine, entered his guilty plea in U.S. District Court today.

Court records reveal that on February 12, 2013, law enforcement officers stopped White’s vehicle in Portland in connection with a drug trafficking investigation. Approximately 400 grams of cocaine were found in the trunk of the car, and a handgun and loaded magazine were discovered near the driver’s seat.

Later that day, officers searched White’s home in Falmouth pursuant to a search warrant and found approximately 3 kilograms of cocaine, over $13,000 in cash, other items consistent with drug trafficking, and a loaded handgun.

White faces a minimum of five years and up to 40 years in prison and a $5,000,000 fine on the drug charge, and a minimum of five years and up to life in prison and a $250,000 fine on the firearms charge.

The investigation was conducted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine State Police, and the Portland, South Portland, and Falmouth Police Departments.
