Wakpala Man Sentenced On Abusive Sexual Contact Charge

A Wakpala man has been sentenced on a charge of Abusive Sexual Contact in a federal court. Adrian B. Spotted Horse, age 33, was sentenced to 21 months of imprisonment, 5 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
The charges stem from an incident on May 31, 2012, when Spotted Horse made two separate attempts to force sexual contact on the victim. Spotted Horse was indicted by a federal grand jury in October 2012 and pled guilty to a Superseding Information on February 7, 2013.
U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced the sentencing on April 30, 2013. U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange imposed the sentence.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Standing Rock Agency. Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Morley prosecuted the case. Spotted Horse was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
